History
Vallter 2000 is one of Catalunya's highest road finishes, climbing above Setcases to a dramatic cirque of switchbacks and alpine terrain near the ski station. The 24.3 km climb from Camprodon at 4.9% average leads to the final steep section.
The approach is long and manageable, but the final switchbacks climb steeply through alpine terrain with spectacular views. The combination of length and final steepness make it a testing climb.
The mountain sits in the Pyrenees near the French border and is frequently used in regional cycling events. The combination of high altitude, scenic terrain, and challenging final section make it a complete Alpine experience.
