History
Maloja sits at 1,815 m and is one of the lower major passes in the Swiss Alps but unique for its setting at the southern end of the Engadin valley. The climb is relatively short at 8.8 km from Silvaplana at 6.4% average.
The pass overlooks beautiful alpine lakes and offers views across the Bergell valley. The good road quality and moderate difficulty make it accessible to cyclists of all levels.
The location and scenery make it popular for cycling tourism and training routes. The combination of moderate difficulty and scenic value make it a worthwhile climb in the Engadin region.
